Gloucester Regatta

Glad to be able to report four more wins for the club yesterday at Gloucester:

  • Stuart, Matt, Richard and Jon won Mas C 4x by a few lengths over Liverpool Victoria.  They also split into two doubles but both lost successively to a very quick double from Christchurch
  • Linda, Trish, Helen and Jo won WMasE 4x by a couple of lengths over City of Swansea.  This was the first win for Trish and Helen, so they lose their novice status.  Linda and Jo also raced in WMasE2x and won their first round over Avon County but lost in the final to Exeter.
  • Liz and Maggie had a convincing win over Gloucester in W Mas E/F 2-.  The Gloucester pair had failed to turn up for a two-boat race with them at British Masters, which deprived them of a gold medal, so there was a bit of needle in this race!
  • Chris and Andy won MasC Nov 2x by a good distance over Liverpool Victoria, so they too lose their sculling novice status.

Honourable mention also goes to Andrew and Jeremy who went down to a narrow defeat by Taunton in MasF 2x, and to both Matt and Jemima who had their first ever single sculling races in Mas D and J14 categories respectively.  Well done to all the Upton crews.
